The Culture Series

To love God well, we have to love people well. Loving starts with recognizing that everyone has a story, and all the stories find their home in the larger story God is telling. We love people by investing in their lives, carrying burdens, and helping them grow in their faith.

Excellence honors God and inspires people. We make it a priority to do the very best with what we have been given. We do this by preparing well, showing up, and fully engaging. We ask the question, “How can I make this better?” Excellence may not always be obvious to some, but ‘not-excellent’ is always obvious to everyone.

Generosity changes our hearts and allows us to impact the lives of others. Jesus reminds us that where our treasure is, our heart will also be. One of the ways we love like Jesus is to realize that all we have is from Him, and we steward it well by using it for His purposes. That’s why we choose to give intentionally by creating a plan to be percentage givers.

Jesus came to serve; therefore, this is how we lead. In the same way, we believe that what it means to lead others to Jesus is to serve like he did. So, we engage in personal ministry wherever and whenever we can — always asking the question, “How can I help?”

We carry joy because the gospel is the most joy-filled news a person can receive. As people who have chosen to follow Jesus, we have been forever changed by that good news, and our lives are permeated by a deep and resounding joy. It shapes how we view the world and one another. It is contagious and should cause others to question where it came from.
